Butter Up Mom with Mother's Day Brunch

We have a few rules around here for Mother's Day.
Keep it simple, special, with a touch of sentimentality and silliness.
The moms in our family just want to have fun, relax, laugh and be together.

Mothers work hard all day, everyday 

and there is no better way to make them happy than a brunch to Butter her Up.

Everything is better with butter.

Food and wine alike!

You know the phrase, "Always listen to your mother"?

This couldn't be more true than in the case of Butter Chardonnay.

My mom called me a few years ago and raved about a wine she had picked up at the store.

The bright, cheerful label caught her eye and she was even more impressed when she took a sip.

Knowing that I had inherited her love of the perfect glass of white wine, 

she couldn't wait to share her discovery.

She told me that true to it's name, it melts in your mouth.

It has  a lush creaminess, a touch of oak, stone fruit, lemon and vanilla.

A little more research revealed that Butter is made by JaM Cellars in the Napa Valley and not only is it close to my dear friend Melissa's home there but their new tasting room was the talk of the town.

She and her daughter had just been there and had such a wonderful time not only trying Butter Chardonnay but their other easy-to-love, everyday California wines 
JaM Cabernet and Toast Sparkling. 

So this year, it is fitting that we gather family and friends,

 for an all out Mother's Day Butter Bash.

Butter cookie letters are a delicious way to let mom know where to sit...

a fresh, light butter lettuce spring salad starts off the spread...

then tangy, slightly sweet bites of buttermilk fried chicken sliders 

on buttermilk biscuits,

topped with bread & butter pickles...

and a touch of creamy, crunch with
a butterscotch, Butterfinger parfaits...

So easy to do by simply layer your favorite butterscotch pudding, 

crumbled Butterfingers candy 

and whipped cream in a glass!

Cheers to mom for all you do, 

a glass of Butter just for you!

To keep the celebration going, many "mom friends" and I will be heading north for our annual trip to

BottleRock Napa Valley 2017.
