Pollock Pumpkins...Our Artsy Halloween Part 2

After we got "wacky with Warhol"
the kids and I decided to do some silly splattering and
Pollock-ize our pumpkins...

Jackson Pollock said,
"The painting has a life of its own.
I try to let it come through."

I think the life of our simple little pumpkins came through...
or as my son called them, our Jackson-o-lanterns :)

  2. How colorful! I love the Pollock inspired look and who doesn't like to throw paint! Especially on a pumpkin. I wanted to invite you to share your idea on my blog, Confetti Diaries, link party this week. I know my readers will really enjoy such creative Halloween inspiration. We hope you'll join us!

  3. What a great idea! I just had to throw away my son's jack o'lantern because it was already rotting in our current heat wave. He likes to "feed the garbage truck" anything that's "eww 'ucky!" so there was no devastation on his part. He loves to paint and uncut pumpkins last much longer so your idea has inspired me to let him have another go at a pumpkin this year. At 2 1/2 it will be his first "formal" introduction to a know artist... this should be a lot of fun!

  4. I love this! As a former elementary art teacher...this is right up my alley and something my kids could do themselves!

I would LOVE for you to link this up at my Ginger Jamboree Link Party!!

  5. I like this. Teaching the kids about artists in a very hands on way. What a wonderful idea.
