  8. Quick question: is there a shelf-life on this? I want to plan ahead for Christmas gifts and get them out of the way early. I figured I could put this together and then store it in a cool place until December. Do you think it would keep well enough?

  16. Love this idea but am a little curious. 1 cup sugar and 1 cup oil for this recipe, but for the candy cane recipe it says 2 cups sugar and barely 1/2 cup oil. Is that right?

    1. That is how I made these, there is no exact science. I wanted these to have more of the coconut smell.

  17. Is there anything you could add to the mix to keep the coconut oil from solidifying after you mix it with the sugar? I made it and I love it, but after the coconut oil re-solidified it was harder to get out of the jar than I wanted.

    1. I guess you can add more of a different kind of oil...I didn't have a problem with it...

  18. Do you have to use Cane Sugar? Or would reg white sugar do?

  19. Thank you. Great recipe! I've read some of the questions- I would just add that any raw coconut oil (organic even better) works great and has soo many benefits for the body and skin.. as for the sugar- you could replace it with sea salt as well if you want more coarse of a scrub! And essential oils are wonderful too. This is a great recipe as a basic scrub though and i'm making some today- as well as for Christmas presents THANK YOU

    1. No! You do not cook anything( except melting the coconut oil) just mix together

  23. I made this earlier today, but misread and only put coconut oil and sugar. According to the directions, it should have the canola/light olive oil, too. Should I try to add it in now, or do you think it'll be fine like this or? I have to ship it out tomorrow =|
